- Description
- The United States Department of Justice (DOJ) intends to issue a Request for Proposals for Automated Litigation Support services for the Department. Automated litigation support encompasses a wide range of professional services and products that help attorneys acquire, organize, develop, and present evidence throughout the course of litigation, from pre-filing investigation, through complaint, discovery, and trial, through post-trial briefs and the appeals process. Contractor personnel will furnish administrative, logistical, professional, and technical labor, supplies, equipment, facilities, materials, and technologies necessary to provide a wide range of professional services and products through the course of litigation. The types of litigation support required under this contract will generally fall into the following areas: (1) Document acquisition; (2) Database creation; (3) Electronic data acquisition and production; (4) Database utilization; (5) Pre-trial and trial support; (6) Specialized professional services; and (7) Contract and project management. DOJ currently has litigation support programs in seven of its litigating components - Civil Division, Antitrust Division, Civil Rights Division, Criminal Division, Environment and Natural Resources Division, Tax Division, and the Executive Office for U.S. Attorneys. All seven existing programs consist of Government specialists who define case- or investigation-specific requirements and then manage contractor-provided case support using contracts designed for automated litigation support. All seven programs are presently making use of our "Mega 2" automated litigation support contracts awarded in November 2001 for this purpose. As many as five (5) indefinite delivery/indefinite quantity contracts are anticipated for this requirement. The Government anticipates a base period of twelve months for each resultant contract with five additional option periods of one year each for a total period of performance of seventy-two (72) months. The solicitation will be available on or about May 08, 2006. Due date for receipt of proposals will be approximately forty (40) days after issuance of the solicitation. All information regarding this procurement, including the solicitation document and amendments, will only be made available electronically on the General Service Administration?s ?Federal Business Opportunities? web site, http://www.fedbizopps.gov. Hard copies of the solicitation itself will not be available. Interested parties should periodically check this Internet site for information regarding the schedule and this acquisition.
