Description

Vicksburg Consolidated Contracting Office intends to solicit on a sole source basis under the authority of FAR 6.302-1 to Cambridge Scientific Abstract, LP, 7200 Wisconsin Avenue, Suite 601, Bethesda, MD 20814. This procurement is being conducted un der Simplified Acquisition Procedures (SAP)  only one responsible source and no other supplies or services will satisfy agency requirements. Cambridge Scientific Abstract, LP, is the only provider of electronic access to Cambridge Scientific Abstract dat abase subscription, 2006 Oct  2007 Sep; Subscription description is as follows: Aquatic Science & Fisheries Abs (ASFA), CSA Environmental Science & Pollution, Georef (Large Non-Profit), GSW Government Class 3 (11-20), Meteorological & Geoastrophysical, Mu lti Search 20 Connector and CSA Technology Research Database. The government intends to acquire a commercial item using FAR Part 12. Interested organizations may submit their capabilities/qualifications to perform the effort in writing to the identified point of contact no later than 1530 hrs Central Time Zone on 14 Apr 2006. Such capabilities/qualifications will be evaluated solely for the purpose of determining whether or not to conduct this procurement on a competitive basis. A determination by the government not to compete this proposed effort on a full and ope n competition basis, based upon responses to this notice, is solely within the discretion of the government. Oral communications are not acceptable in response to this notice. No RFP will be issued based upon this Notice of Intent.
