Description

The National Park Service, Catoctin Mountain Park, Thurmont, MD is soliciting proposals for all labor, equipment and sufficient personnel for selected maintenance (i.e.: tree pruning removal) and all related incidental work as in accordance with the unit prices and specifications stated herein. Therefore any items not specifically noted, but necessary for performance in accordance with accepted industry standards, shall be furnished under this contract. This is an option year contract (base year with 4 option years). This contract is intended to augment the in-house work forces at Catoctin Mountain Park. Instances where the contractor may be called upon include performing tree maintenance tasks beyond the capabilities of the in-house work forces. This is a requirement-type contract. The quantities of work shown on the bid schedule are strictly estimates for obtaining unit prices. The exact quantity will depend upon the vagaries of weather, visitor use and/or construction impacts, in-house capabilities, insect and disease infestations and funding. All work shall be under the direction and general supervision of an Arborist(s) certified by the International Society of Arboriculture (ISA). A pre-proposal conference date will be listed on the solicitation. The solicitation and attachments will be posted online on the Dept. of the Interior's National Business Center (NBC) website; http://ideasec.nbc.gov and http://www.fedbizopps.gov on or about April 21, 2006 and will specify a closing date for receipt of offers. A comparative evaluation of proposal or offers based on price, past performance and the technical qualifications should result in the best value procurement. The government reserves the right to cancel this solicitation. The anticipated award date is on or about May 26, 2006. The proposed acquisition is estimated at less than $43,000.00 for the base year. NAICS CODE: 561730 and the small business size is $3.5 million.
