Description

This is synopsis for the purchase of six cable detectors. This notice is a combined synopsis/solicitation for commercial items prepared in accordance with the format in FAR subpart 12.6, as supplemented with additional information included in this n otice. This solicitation constitutes the only solicitation; quotes are being requested and a written solicitation will not be issued. This procurement is being conducted under the Simplified Acquisition Procedures (SAP) as a 100% small business set-aside . The cable detector must be portable and lightweight. The device will be able to detect metal and cable buried up to .5m depth. Specifically, the detector should be designed for the location of fire lines or command wires of remote controlled booby traps . The cable detector should be able to last eight to twelve hours at a time and work effectively in temperatures ranging from -20 to 55 degrees Celsius. The NAICS Code and the small business size standard for this procurement are 562910 and 500 employees. Award will be made to the technically acceptable, low price offeror. Award will be made to a single offeror. Required delivery is 30 days after award, FOB Destination, Fort Belvoir, VA, 22060 (9925 Tracy Loop, Bldg 767). The following provisions and cl auses apply: FAR 52.212-1, Instructions to Offerors, Commercial Items; FAR 52.212-3, Offeror Representations and Certifications Commercial Items; FAR 52.212-4, Contract Terms and Conditions, Commercial Items; FAR 52.212-5, Contract Terms and Conditions Re quired to Implement Statues or Executive Orders, Commercial Items (in paragraph (b) the following clauses apply: FAR 52.203-6, 52.219-8, 52.222-21, 52.222-26, 52.222-35, 52.222-36, 52.222-37, 52.232-36. Offerors responding to this announcement shall subm it their quotes via email to cara.saunders@belvoir.army.mil. Quotes must be received by 12:00 p.m. EST, on 17 April 2006.
