- CHEMAWA INDIAN SCHOOL DORMITORY REPLACEMENT, SALEM, MARION COUNTY, OREGON. The proposed procurement is unrestricted, open to both large and small business concerns. NAICS is 236220/SIC 1522, with a size standard of $31,000,000.00. The magnitude of construction is greater than $10,000,000.00. Bonding will be required for this acquisition. The offerors attention is directed to Section 00100 in the Solicitation for information regarding the tour of the site. Plans will be issued on or about May 1, 2 006, with proposals due on or about June 15, 2006. This solicitation will not be issued on paper. WORK CONSISTS of the replacement of the existing Bureau of Indian Affairs Chemawa Indian School Dormitories (approximately 86,600 square feet), Salem, Mario n County, Oregon, with a new dormitory facility. The project includes the construction of a 400-student, coed, four-wing, two-story dormitory, approximately 86,600 gross square feet. The facility includes sleeping rooms and activity areas designed for hi gh school teenagers, grades 9 through 12, and administrative areas for dorm staff. The building construction is single-wythe, exterior load bearing, 8-inch CMU; interior steel frame with steel joists and concrete filled metal deck. The existing dormitori es along with corresponding site features (i.e. roadways, curb and gutter, sidewalks, and landscaping) shall be demolished as part of this project. Existing play shed, canopy and associated covered walkway shall be renovated. Also included in the constru ction project are new roadways, parking areas, sidewalks, utility systems, landscaping and storm drainage system. This project will be advertised as a Request for Proposal. Competitive proposals will be evaluated based on the evaluation criteria set forth in the solicitation package. Evaluation by the Government will result in selection of a firm that represents the b est overall value to the Government. Proposed procurement will result in a firm fixed price contract.
