Description
The United States Marine Corps, Marine Corps Systems Command, Infantry Weapons, Quantico, Virginia is currently seeking commercial sources that manufacture bore scope device systems. CAPABILITY DISCUSSION. The bore scope device will enable the Ordnance Repair Marines to accurately and effectively view the bore of a cannon to ensure we are getting maximum service life out of the weapons systems. SYSTEM ATTRIBUTES. The attributes that follow describe some of the specific characteristics that are required to provide the desired capability. Some attributes include threshold and objective criteria. A threshold criterion is defined as a mandatory requirement and an objective criterion is defined as a desirable (but not mandatory) requirement. System Portability and Package. The bore scope devise will require no more then a one man lift, be lightweight and packaged as small as possible. Must be packaged in a way to enable the equipment to be dropped from a height of 30 inches, while packaged and still maintain accuracy and serviceability. Interoperability. The Bore scope shall have replaceable internal batteries, preferably AA. With the ability to use 24V DC using a vehicle slave receptacle and 120-volt AC with converter. Should be able to scope calibers from 20mm ? 155mm. Must have the capability to adjust the light source and focus on areas of concern, without removing the scope from the cannon. Information captured must be downloadable to CD, or other storage devises and be Oracle based for compatibility. Operating temperature range: -30c to +70c. The required production quantity of these systems will be approximately 120. An estimated production schedule of June 1st 2006 shall be delivered no later than 60 days after contract award. Source selection will take place May 1st ? 31st. Article Testing will be required, Interested firms with the capability to supply approximately 120 bore scoping devise systems as described above should provide at no cost to the Government a summary of their firms capabi lities to include a description and location of their facility, personnel, business size, ability to meet the deliverable mentioned above, past experience relating to this system, Presentation of Information To The Government in Hard Copy Format. Interested sources are requested to respond NLT 3:00 PM, EST, 1 May 2006 stating their CAGE code, DUNS number, cost to produce these systems, and the complete contact information for a corporate point of contact no later than May 1st 2006. In addition to the hard copy briefs mentioned above, individual firms may present oral presentations to the government that would include description and location of their facility, personnel, business size, ability to meet the deliverable mentioned above and past experience relating to this system. Request this information be submitted in writing also. The intent of the briefs is to promote information exchange between industry and government on the above system. Contractor briefs will be scheduled on a first-come, first-served basis after this requirement is synopsized. Contractor oral presentations shall commence on May 15th 2006. Contractors will be offered a thirty-minute time slot to brief the government. Contractors may not brief the government if they fail to submit information in hard copy format by 1700 on May 1st 2006. The government will post on-line all questions and answers from the contractor briefs, on a non-attribution basis, no later than 10 days after the completion of the last oral presentation. The government will not reveal proprietary information. The location for the contractor briefs is the Titan, L3 Communications building located at 10 Center St. Stafford, VA 22556. Submissions shall not exceed 20 pages (8 inches by 11inches), excluding brochures. Font shall be 12 pitch, Times New Roman, with one-inch borders. All information shall be submitted at no cost or obligation to the Government. Documentation provided will not be returned.
