- The National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) has a requirement for maintenance of IMS-1500C Rawinsonde Receiving Systems located in Bahamas, Barbados, Belize, Curacao, Dominican Republic, Grand Cayman Island, Jamaica, San Andres Island (Colombia), St. Maarten, Trinidad, and Sterling, Virginia. Such maintenance includes, but is not limited to, the following: Technical diagnosis of problems; Replacement of faulty parts including shipping; and Site visits as necessary to accomplish repairs. The period of performance for this effort is for one year commencing with the date of purchase order award, with an option for an additional one-year period. NOAA intends to negotiate on a sole source basis with International Met Systems (InterMet), located in Grand Rapids, Michigan for these maintenance services. InterMet is the sole manufacturer of the IMS-1500C system, and is the only known source that can provide the required maintenance services. This acquisition will be accomplished using simplified acquisition procedures. Request for Quotation (RFQ) No. DG133W-06-RQ-0395 will be issued on or about April 26, 2006 and will close on or about May 5, 2006. Although NOAA expects that only InterMet can provide the required services, all responsible sources may submit a quotation which will be considered by NOAA. See Note 26.
