- Description
- The Federal Highway Administration intends to negotiate a sole source purchase order with Applied Research Systems (ARS) to redesign the Rolling Wheel Deflectometer (RWD). The RWD provides continuous pavement reflection measurements on roads while driving at normal highway speeds. ARS will redesign the RWD?s beam, rear extension, and front support. The RWD will be disassembled, fabricated with new parts, reassembled and field-tested. ARS is the manufacturer and holds proprietary rights to RWD; therefore, they are the only source that can provide this service. This is a Simplified Acquisition and the anticipated award date is on or about April 24, 2006.
