Description
The Southern Arizona VA Health Care System, Tucson, AZ 85723 intends to negotiate a firm fixed-price contract with Biosense Webster, Inc. of Diamond Bar, CA on a sole source basis pursuant to FAR 6.302-1. This acquisition will be accomplished using commercial item procedures in accordance with FAR Part 12. for the purchase of a CARTO XP System consisting of baseline software, location pad, with foot pedal: Grounding Cable (8 ft.), Power Supply Cord, Optical Cable, Patient Cable Adapter, Patient Cable; Windows Workstation Computer, two Flat screen repeater monitors, 18" high resolution, distribution amplifier, Anthro Cart (two), two user's manuals, Color ink printer, Training for two physicians, two nurses or two technicians. The system will also include one Stockert 70 Generator, and a CoolFlow Irrigation Pump. The CARTO XP System is an intra-cardiac mapping system that is used during EP therapeutic procedures to locate electrical pathways in the heart. The intended use of the CARTO XP System is catheter-based cardiac electrophysiological (EP) mapping. The CARTO XP System provides important information on the electrical activity of the heart. The North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) code is 334510. Firms who wish to identify their interest and capability to provide an alternate system which will meet the capabilities and functionality described above may notify the Contracting Officer in writing, no later than 4:00 PM PST on April 21, 2006. Such notification must include a complete description of proposed equipment, including narrative and specifications, and must demonstrate that it meets or exceeds the capabilities described above. Notification shall be mailed to John Avvampato (678/9-90C), Contracting Officer, 3601 S 6th Avenue, Tucson, AZ 85723.. Upon receipt of any such notifications, the Contracting Officer will determine whether to conduct a competitive procurement or proceed with sole source negotiations. Responses received will be evaluated, however; a determination by the Government not to compete the proposed procurement based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. If no responses are received, the Southern Arizona VA Health Care System will proceed with the sole source negotiation with Biosense Webster, Inc. This notice is not a request for competitive proposals or request for quotes.
