The Armys Product Manager Clothing and Individual Equipment (PM CIE) and the USMCs Product manager Infantry Combat Equipment (PM ICE) will jointly hold an Advance Planning Brief for Industry (APBI) on June 1-2, 2006 in the Washington, DC area. The goal of the event is to keep the industrial base informed of the direction of Army and USMC clothing and individual equipment programs, future requirements and business opportunities. The first day of the APBI will include an overview of PM CIE and PM ICE, each of the active programs, and information on new PM CIE initiatives to include system integration and industrial base coordination. The second day of the APBI will consist of indiv idual sessions led by the Assistant Product Managers for each of the commodity areas with a detailed discussion of all on-going efforts in research and development, test, evaluation, future contract projections, and current/emerging military requirements. The commodity areas are as follows: Footwear, Cold Weather Gear, Load Bearing Equipment, Aviation/CVC Equipment, Handwear, Ballistic Protective Equipment, Hydration, and Uniforms. Sessions will be held for Army unique commodities such as personal airdrop equipment and USMC unique commodities such as food service support equipment and the supplier certification program. These briefings are designed to identify specific opportunities over the next three years. Both days of the APBI are open to all members of the supply chain, both large and small business. Space is limited; therefore a maximum of two attendees will be permitted per company. Spaces will be reserved in the order in which requests arrive to a maximum of 400 people.
