Description
The U.S. Army Tank-automotive and Armaments Command, Armament Research, Development and Engineering Center (TACOM-ARDEC), Picatinny Arsenal, NJ requires the manufacture and delivery of Joint Modular Intermodal Container (JMIC) system based on the information, technical data packages and specifications solely provided by the U.S. Navy/U.S. Army. The base contract and options for as many as 500 equivalent single JMICs shall be used to support the Limited Military Utility Assessments (LMUA) and Military Utility Assessments (MUA) scheduled in FY06 and FY07 for Joint Modular Intermodal Distribution System (JMIDS) Joint Capabilities Technology Demonstration (JCTD). The baseline JMIC system (DL 7516510 and associated drawings) is an extruded aluminum design composed of common pallet base, front/rear panels, side panels and cover. Its solid-top pallet base deck has an integrated tie-down track and lockable interface fittings. A similar tie-down track around the perimeter of the pallet base accommodates tie-down rings providing the capability for securing the JMIC to a deck. It is a modular design providing the flexibility to configure from a stand-alone pallet base to a collapsible or non-collapse container. All components of the container interlock together, whether fully assembled or collapsed. The interface fitting/lifting eye on each corner connecting post, besides being used as the stacking feature and interlock, serves as lifting eyes. Four-way entry provisions on the base accommodate standard forklift trucks or pallet trucks. The baseline JMIC has a 3,000 lb gross weight capacity and a tare weight less than 300 pounds. Refer to the attached for the solicitation document and Technical Data Package (TDP). Point of Contact for this solicitation is Ms. Morgan Ross, 973-724-3504, mross@pica.army.mil. Responses should be sent via mail to Commander, U.S. Army- TACOM, AMSTA-AQ-APB, Bldg. 9, Attn: Ms. Morgan Ross, Picatinny Arsenal, NJ 07806.
