- The Portland District Corps of Engineers intends to award a contract for South Coast Clamshell Dredging. This dredging project includes maintenance of small ports along the southern coast of Oregon. These port locations include Port Orford, Winches ter Bay, Charleston, and Chetco. Disposal for each of these locations will be at designated ocean disposal sites. The Contractor shall be required to commence work at any time after Notice to Proceed, to prosecute the work diligently, and complete the wor k not later than July 31, 2006. Contractor must meet U.S. Coast Guard Load Line Requirements for vessels that transit beyond the Boundary Line. A Site Safety and Health Officer (SSHO) shall be provided for all new contracts with the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Portland District. For this project, the person that will act as the SSHO is required to have a minimum of 3 years safety work with simil ar projects and a 30 Hour OSHA construction safety class, or equivalent, taken within the last 3 years. The SSHO may have other duties for this work that include being the Contractor on-site Project Manager and/or the on-site CQC Manager or other responsib le individual.
