Description
The U.S. Army Medical Research and Materiel Command anticipates awarding a sole source contract to the International Registry of Pathology for a period of one year with four option years for the written consultation reports on submitted whole hearts and cardiovascular devices. Approximately 125 hearts per year shall be diagnosed. Justification: The International Registry of Pathology is the only responsible source that can ensure the accomplishment of highly complex cases in coordination with the A rmed Forces Institute of Pathology (AFIP). The International Registry of Pathology shall provide quality instrumentation, technologies and methodologies to provide professional written consultation reports. AFIP will provide the transportation from and b ack. They shall meet the 5 business day Standard turn around time. Strict quality assurance and quality control protocols shall be followed. All Health Insurance Portability and Accountability guidelines will be adhered to. Complete HIPAA Business Asso ciate Agreement will be enforced. AFIP may conduct an on-site inspection prior to or after the award of the contract. Potential case categories requiring support: 1) Sudden Death/Sudden Death Cardiac Death, 2) Other Gross Heart, 3) Autopsy (no tissue), 4) Department of Veterans Affairs/Quality, 5) Assurance Autopsy/Surgical, 6) Gross Valve, 7) Baby Heart, 8) Bypass, 9) Stent, 10) Prosthetic Valve Autopsy. All responsible sources must provide written documentation demonstrating identical capabilities wit h the International Registry of Pathology to the address above. No Solicitation is available.
