Description
The contractor shall design a cage system for housing and breeding of ferrets, based upon Government's requirements stated in the RFQ package. The awardee shall fabricate one complete cage, per the design, and provide to the Government, allowing for a a two week animal testing. The cage shall consist of 4 ft. by 3 ft. pan floor. Pan material shall be temperature neutral, non-toxic, light-colored, resistant to gnawing and clawing, shall not deteriorate under constant exposure to urine, and shall be cleanable with soap and water. Sides and back of cage shall be of 1 inch square stainless steel mesh, 10 gauge, from the top of the lip up to a total cage height of 2 feet. The lower nesting box shall measure 20 inch. by 12 inch, by 16 inches high. Upper nesting box shall measure 15 inches by 9 inches by 12 inches high. The nesting boxes to be removable for transporting ferrit, as well as for cleaning. Vertically-sliding panel to be the closing of that cage opening. Cage support frame shall be detachable framework of aluminum or other corrosion-resistant material. A framework system assembled from a kit of standard parts, such as 80/20 inc., or Unistrut is preferred to a custom fabricated system. Height from floor to cage shall be 3 feet. After a final approval of a cage, construct 144 complete cages. Deliver and set up the cages at the National Black-Footed Ferret Conservation Center, Wellington, Colorado. An additional 20 cages will be on the order, non-constructed. Those twenty will be for future backup. The NAICS code for this acquisition is 332618. Quoters will be evaluated by Technical Capability, Past Performance References and Experience, and Price. References must be for similar procurements in the past 3 years. The Request for Quotation will be issued on or about April 25, 2006 and the approximate closing date is May 25, 2006. Effective October 1, 2003, all contractors must be registred on the CCR website as an active vendor in order to be eligible for an award and to receive payments against an existing award. Please be sure your firm is registered. The website is: www.ccr.gov. On-line representations and certifications application (ORCA); Effective January 1, 2005, all potential contractors are required to log into ORCA and complete the representations and certifications.
