- Description
- The Naval Aviation Systems Command (NAVAIRSYSCOM) is seeking sources with innovative approaches and products that are feasible of installing a HMCS system on the T45 aircraft. The T45 aircraft is used for advanced tactical aircraft training for student naval aviators. The T45C is a digital aircraft and the T45A is analog, however all T45A aircraft will be configured to digital as part of the Required Avionics Modernization Program (RAMP). In a parallel effort, NAVAIRSYSCOM is implementing a synthetic tactical fire-control radar capability into the T-45C Goshawk. Additionally, the T-45C is to receive the following avionic upgrades: Smart Multi-Function Color Display in FY07 and a next generation Mission Display Processor (MDP) in FY06. The MDP is a VME, Commercial off the shelf (COTS), open architecture system with expanded Input/Output and memory. REQUIREMENTS: The HMCS must be full compatible with the current T45C configuration. DISCUSSION POINTS: (a) The HMCS must be interoperable with the Mission Display Processor (MDP) (b) the HMCS shall not interfere with the aircraft ejection envelope or adversely affect aircraft weight and balance limitations (c) the proposed HMCS enable the pilot to accurately direct (cue) onboard weapons systems against adversary aircraft and ground targets during high G aircraft maneuvers. DELIVERABLES: This request is for sources sought only and shall be provided at no cost to the Government. NAVAIRSYSCOM seeks conceptual papers, technology availability/maturity, identification of risks, product descriptions, support requirements, Mean Time Between Failure (MTBF) data, addressing all or any part of the requirements or discussion points detailed above. In addition, provide suggestions on ways to enhance competition and/or address opportunities to join an existing procurement contract. As part of this continuing modernization effort and to expose Student Naval Aviators in the Strike Fighter pipeline to similar HMCS?s in the fleet, NAVAIRSYSCOM is seeking industry input. Questions concerning software development, requirements, and or interfaces needed for the new HMCS may be directed to the government technical point of contact listed below. Information presented need not be limited to that specifically described herein. Ensure your submission identifies a corporate point of contact. Please provide one hardcopy, and one compact disk copy of your submission to the NAVAIRSYSCOM Contracting Officer identified above.
