Description
The Marine Corps Systems Command (MCSC), Quantico, Virginia seeks sources and information for Frequency Conversion Systems. A potential USMC need is emerging for a selection of Frequency Conversion Systems between 60-250 KVA for the conversion of electric current abroad into electric current commonly used in the United States. The system shall provide 120/208 VAC, 3-phase, 60 Hz, 0.8 PF from either a 220 / 380 or a 240/415 volt, 3-phase, 50HZ source. The systems will be used in harsh environments that may include temperatures ranging between negative 25 Fahrenheit to 140 degrees Fahrenheit. The environment may also contain high amounts of airborne dust and sand, and may have torrential rains and snows. The units considered should be designed to stand up to these conditions during operation. Vendors interested in bailing a unit to MCSC, may transport a sample system for evaluation to and from Quantico, Virginia at their own expense. Commercial firms possessing the characteristics noted in the above system description are encouraged and invited to submit the following: Product brochures and pricing materials outlining specifications, to include a statement of capabilities; Current GSA contract information regarding unit pricing and discounts. General Services Administration (GSA) Federal Supply Schedule (FSS) may be an appropriate method for these supplies and services (Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) Part 8.0 and 8.4); Operations / maintenance / parts manual for the unit (if requested by the vendor, the manuals will be returned after Government review); Independent or in-house test data; Accessories needed for equipment operation, and whether or not the accessories are included with the unit or sold separately. Responses will be reviewed to identify firms potentially capable of fulfilling the Governments requirements. This sources-sought/Request for Information (RFI) is for planning purposes only and shall not be construed as a Request For Proposal or as an obligation on the part of the Government to acquire follow-on acquisition. The Government does not intend to award a contract on the basis of this RFI, or otherwise pay for the information requested. No entitlement to payment of direct or indirect cost or charges by the Government will arise as a result of submission of responses to this RFI and Government use of such information. The Government recognizes that proprietary data may be part of this effort. If so included, clearly mark such restricted or proprietary data and present it as an addendum to the non-restricted/non-proprietary information. Responses to this RFI shall be mailed to Marine Corps Systems Command, Attn: Ronald Dingle-GTES-CT025, 2200 Lester Ave, Quantico, VA 22134-6050 no later than March 15, 2006.
