- Description
- This request for information by Government Services Administration (GSA) is for hardware, software, and/or managed backup solution for a multi-OS server environment. The current environment consists of approximately 100 Windows servers, and a Network Appliance cluster running Data ONTAP version 7.0.3. The current backup is being provided by Veritas NetBackup 8.6, 3 Exabyte x80 tape loaders, and Mammoth 2 tapes. The total amount of data to be backed up will not exceed 15 Terabytes. The solution should also be compatible with Linus/Unix systems that may be added to the environment in the future. The GOALS of this request are to decrease the current full backup window to at most 10-12 hours; increase the flexibility of backups between server OS versions; increase the reliability of information restored from backup with hardware and software; and reduce the amount of time to restore information by providing an administrator interface that accurately reflects location of data. At lease one copy of the backup must be capable of being stored off-site. The Government point of contact (POC) for this RFI is Jerry Shead, 816-823-4661.
