Description
The Government announces its requirement to procure for fire pump and fire sprinkler system upgrade at Ron De Lugo Federal Building and US Courthouse, Charlotte Amalie, St. Thomas, U.S.V.I. The contractor shall furnish all necessary labor, materials, equipment, tools and supervision. Work shall include, but is not limited to: demolition of the existing fire pump system and related cold water (CW) piping system, modification to the existing CW main distribution, booster pump and water filtration systems, repairs to existing water cistern, city water intake modification, construction of a new fire pump house, provision/installation of a new fire pump system in new location compliant with NFPA, new fire riser with capacity for the existing building, modifications to existing sprinkler system, miscellaneous architectural and civil work, re-routing of AHU drains from the storm system to the sanitary system. Some of the above work is covered by options. The magnitude of this project is estimated between $250,000 and $500,000. The North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) code is 238220 and the size standard is $13 million. Performance and payment bonds will be required following award pursuant to the Miller Act. All responsible sources may submit an offer, which shall be considered by the agency. Sources shall be registered and active in the Central Contractor Registration (Visit www.ccr.gov). The required construction completion date is 273 calendar days commencing one day after the notice to proceed. The solicitation number is GS-02P-06-PI-C-0028. The anticipated solicitation release date is May 12, 2006. A non-mandatory site visit will be conducted prior to the bid opening on May 25, 2006. This solicitation incorporates documents, which are not available electronically on the Government wide Point of Entry (GPE). The solicitation, amendments to the solicitation, specifications and drawings will be available through a secured Internet site. Interested parties shall send all requests to access the secured Internet site and requests for the solicitation to the attention of Zenaida Delgado at the e-mail or mailing addresses shown in this pre-solicitation notice. Contractors are requested to provide a street address, telephone number, business license or other documentation granted by the state or local jurisdiction to conduct business, valid DUNS number, valid IRS Tax ID Number and e-mail address. Contractors will also be required to sign a Document Security Notice. Once the request for the solicitation has been accepted, an e-mail will be sent to the e-mail address provided. The e-mail will provide instructions for entry into the secured Internet site and access to the solicitation. Contractors should request e-mail notification from FedBizOpps in order to remain apprised of solicitation. Telephone or facsimile requests will not be accepted for this solicitation.
