- Description
- The U.S. Coast Guard, Maintenance and Logistics Command Atlantic (MLCLANT), Norfolk, VA is procuring inspection, troubleshooting, maintenance, and repair and upgrading services for the “Autocall” Fire Protection Alarm System at the U.S. Coast Guard Academy in New London, CT. The contractor shall provide all necessary labor, transportation, equipment, materials, supplies and supervision to perform inspection, troubleshooting, maintenance, repair, and upgrading of the “Autocall” fire protection alarm system. The work consists of repair service and periodically, recurrent inspection and test required to keep the fire protection alarm system and its components operative at all times, together with replacement of the system or its components when they become unreliable or inoperative. The contractor shall provide all necessary labor, equipment materials and perform all operations in conjunction with inspecting, troubleshooting, maintaining, repairing, and upgrading the Academy’s fire protection alarm system and related equipment. The contractor shall also ensure at all times the system complies with the most recent provisions of National Fire Protection Association (NFPA) 72 and all other related NFPA codes. The solicitation will be issued in accordance with FAR Part 12, Acquisition of Commercial Items and FAR Subpart 13.5 -- Test Program for Certain Commercial Items. A firm-fixed price services type contract will be awarded to responsible offeror whose offer conforming to the solicitation will be most advantageous to the government, price and past performance considered. The Base Period of performance will be from 01 October 2006 through 30 September 2007 with four one-year option periods, if exercised by the Government, for total contract duration not to exceed 5 years/60 months. This requirement will be issued under small business set aside procedures. The applicable NAICS code is 561621 (Security System Services (except Locksmiths)) with a size standard of $ 11.5 million. The solicitation, and any subsequent amendments, will be available electronically on the MLCLANT Intranet Web site http://www.uscg.mil/mlclant/fdiv/fdiv.html on or about March 15, 2006 with a closing date for receipt of quotes by April 5, 2006.
