Description
The incumbent will serve as the Senior RH/FP Advisor in the USAID/Ethiopia Office of Health, AIDS, Population and Nutrition (HAPN). In this capacity, the Sr. RH/FP Advisor will: 1. Monitor and manage USAID?s RH/FP portfolio of activities and budget, including input for the preparation of program and budget documentation for reporting to the Mission and USAID/W and the Government of Ethiopia (where required) and for the annual resource request to Mission Management and USAID/W. For this, the incumbent will work with USAID-funded RH/FP partners to coordinate and manage all required reporting and development and submission of annual work plans and budgets. (35%) 2. Interface within USAID/Ethiopia and with USAID/Washington on the mission?s RH/FP portfolio and keep current on health, population and nutrition trends in Ethiopia and other parts of Africa, and on relevant state of the art research and best practices and uses this information to inform RH/FP program design and management in Ethiopia. (10%) 3. Play a leadership role with the Ministry of Health, donor community and related stakeholders to advance RH/FP in the country as per the National Reproductive Health Strategy and other key national strategies and policies. Monitors the development of new policies and their impact on RH/FP programming in the country. (15%) 3. Ensure technical and programmatic soundness of USAID investments in RH/FP as well as compliance with USAID/Washington policy and US Federal legislation. (20%) 2. Provide guidance to the SO 14 management team regarding RH/FP investments and future programming including design and modification of program activities, the determination of program direction, monitoring and evaluation and corrective action, where needed. (10%) 4. Plays a lead role with the MOH and other stakeholders in mobilizing investment for contraceptive security including the implementation of the Essential Contraceptive Logistics System and the Integrated Health Logistics System. (10%)
