Description
DSCP is conducting a market survey for parties interested/eligible to provide the Carriers, Small Arms Type I (NSN: 8470-01-359-0424) & Type II (NSN: 8470-01-359-0427s). The Carriers shall be made in accordance to MIL-B-44421 dated February 21, 1991 and pattern dated January 9, 1996. Deliveries are required beginning 240 days after date of award and every thirty days thereafter. Sources are required to provide best delivery schedule/quantity. Destinations for subject items are Defense Depot Tracy, CA and Defense Depot New Cumberland, PA. First Article Testing is required. For the Carriers, Small Arms, Type I - Five (5) units will be required which; will be evaluated for visual and fit characteristics. For the Carriers, Small Arms, Type II - Three (3) 1 inch by 1 inch fiberglass laminate samples to be tested for resin content in accordance with MIL_B-44421. At least one (1) fiberglass laminate sample of appropriate dimensions for oxygen index value testing in accordance with ASTM D 2863 and MIL-B-44421. Five (5) ceramic plates of each size, prior to bonding of fiberglass laminate, for thickness and liquid penetrant testing in accordance with MIL-B-44421. Ten (10) ceramic plates of each size bonded to fiberglass laminate, but prior to application of the spall cover and edging, for visual, dimensional, ballistic resistance, temperature resistance, and areal density in accordance with MIL-B-44421. Ten (10) end items carriers with inserts of each size. Inserts will be tested for visual, radiographic, adhesion of foam pad, and adhesion of spall cover and edging in accordance with MIL-B-44421. The end item carrier with inserts will be tested for visual and fit requirements in accordance with MIL-C-44417.
