Description

The Federal Bureau of Prisons (BOP), Field Acquisition Office, Grand Prairie, TX intends to make a single award for the provision of Solid Waste Removal, Disposal, and Rental services at the Department of Justice, Federal Bureau of Prisons, Federal Correctional Institution (FCI) and Federal Prison Camp (FPC), located at 501 Gary Hill Road, Edgefield, South Carolina. The North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) Code is 562111 (Size Standard: $11.5 million). The services include the rental of two 34 yard self-contained compactors and one 30 yard open top trash container. It is anticipated the Contractor will collect and dispose of approximately 800 tons of solid waste per year. The contractor will be responsible for disconnecting and reconnecting the receiver to the compactor. The removal and exchange of the 34 yard self-contained compactor from the FCI shall be accomplished twice weekly on Tuesdays and Fridays and shall be between the hours of 3:30 a.m. and 4:00 a.m. An empty compactor shall replace the full compactor at the same time. The Contractor will be required to pick up and immediately return the 34 yard self-contained compactor at the FPC on Wednesdays between the hours of 7:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. The Contractor will be required to pick up the 30 yard open top container at the FPC, averaging one time per month. The contractor is solely responsible for full compliance with all Federal, State, Local and all other applicable laws, policies, rules and regulations regarding the disposal of waste and/or refuse. The contractor shall be responsible for the provision of all equipment, labor, licenses, maintenance, materials, parts, permits, repairs, tools, etc., that are necessary to complete the requirements of this contract. The Government contemplates awarding of an indefinite-delivery, requirements-type contract with firm-fixed unit prices resulting from the solicitation. The contract period shall consist of a 12 month base period with four-12 month option periods for renewal. The solicitation will be available on/about May 16, 2006 and will be distributed solely through this website. Hard copies of the solicitation will not be available. The website provides downloading instructions to obtain all documents relating to this solicitation. All future information concerning this acquisition, including the solicitation and any subsequent amendments, will be distributed through the website. Interested parties are responsible for monitoring the website to ensure they have the most up-to-date information about the acquisition. The date for receipt of quotations is on/about June 16, 2006; however, this is a projected estimate and quoters should refer to Page 1 of the solicitation (Block #8) for the actual date quotations are due. All contractors doing business with the Federal Government must be registered in the Central Contractor Registration (CCR) database. The website for registration is www.ccr.gov. Faith-Based and Community-Based Organizations can submit offers/bids/quotations equally with other organizations for contracts for which they are eligible. This solicitation is a full and open competitive procurement. All responsible small business concerns are encouraged to submit a quotation which may be considered.
