- Description
- This Request for Information (RFI) is the initiation of market research under Part 10 of the Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR), and is not a Request for Proposals (RFP). The Government does not intend to pay for any information furnished pursuant to this RFI. The DoD RF Module Technology Working Group (TWG) and the Joint Defense Manufacturing Technology Panel (JDMTP) working through the Next-Generation Manufacturing Technology (NGMTI) Program, is soliciting expressions of interest from U.S. industry, academic organizations, and other government agencies regarding the creation of a Strategic Investment Plan for RF Modules. The topic encompasses RF Module technologies including Packaging/Assembly, Materials, Components, and other potential solutions to expand capabilities of Amplifiers, Power Amplifiers, MPMs, T/R Modules, and other devices to meet the challenges of providing affordable RF Modules for military uses such as Communications, Electronic Warfare (EW), Radar, and other applications. An initial 3-day strategic planning workshop is scheduled for May 16 to May 18, 2006 in Knoxville, TN. This workshop will develop the general content of the RF Module Strategic Investment Plan and establish a foundation for further planning for potential R&D projects. Due to space constraints and the need to ensure a balance of industry and government perspectives, participation in the workshop is by invitation only. If you are interested in attending this workshop, please complete the short information questionnaire posted below and return it together with your firm?s qualifications via email by 25 April to Darrell James at Darrell.james@navy.mil . Questionnaire To assist us in selecting the appropriate team to develop the RF Module Strategic Investment Plan, we are asking interested parties to respond to the following questionnaire. Is your company or organization currently researching, developing or producing RF Modules for a DoD system or program? If so, please identify and briefly describe your program(s) or application(s): In your opinion, what technical issues present the greatest barrier to providing RF Modules to current and future DoD Systems? What technical topics might benefit most from creation of a strategic plan to guide collaborative, industry/government research and development of RF Modules technologies? What new or future RF Module technologies should the DoD pursue? What technical area(s) do you represent? Please provide any roadmaps - to share in advance - with your submittal of this questionnaire. Please provide your contact information: Name Company Address email phone Responses to this RFI that indicate that the information therein is proprietary or represents confidential business information will be received and held in confidence for U.S. Government use only.
