Description
Special Notice SN06-23: Control of Protein Conformation (CPC) Proposer's Day Workshop, DATE: May 22, 2006, REGISTRATION DEADLINE: May 15, 2006, TECHNICAL POC: Dr. Donald J. Leo, DARPA/DSO, Ph: (571) 218-4939 In anticipation of a potential program on the topic of Control of Protein Conformations, DARPA is hosting a Proposer?s Day workshop that will provide critical information on the program vision, the program milestones, and opportunities associated with the development of an interdisciplinary team to respond to BAA 06-19, Addendum 2. The workshop will be held on May 22, 2006, in Arlington, Virginia. The goals and milestones of the DARPA Control of Protein Conformations program are specified in the Broad Agency Announcement, BAA-06-19, Addendum 2. A highly interdisciplinary team will be required to perform the effort and meet the Phase I milestones. The Proposer?s Day will facilitate the formation of teams with the necessary expertise to respond to the CPC Broad Agency Announcement. This meeting has three goals: 1) To familiarize potential proposers with DARPA?s vision and motivation for the CPC Program, 2) To explain the mechanics of a DARPA Program, and the goals, milestones, and metrics of this effort, and 3) To promote discussion of synergistic capabilities and teaming among potential program participants. The Proposer?s Day workshop will be divided into three sessions. Session I will consist of a detailed overview presentation of the vision and motivation for the CPC Program and may include additional presentations relevant to the development of chemical and biological countermeasures; Session II will consist of a question and answer session between the participants and the DARPA POC; Session III will consist of a poster session that will facilitate the formation of teams with the necessary expertise to respond to BAA 06-19, Addendum 2, Control of Protein Conformation (CPC). Potential participants should note that formation of teams that have expertise in the three technical areas described above will be critical to the success of the program. DARPA will not be funding component technologies that address only a subset of the technologies listed above through BAA 06-19, Addendum 2, Control of Protein Conformation (CPC). Appropriate teaming will be a critical element in responding to the DARPA Control of Protein Conformations solicitation. CPC Proposer's Day workshop participants are strongly encouraged to prepare posters describing areas of capabilities in order to facilitate communications, interactions, and teaming discussions during the poster session. Workshop details including registration, poster session, meeting location, and lodging are given on the CPC registration website at http://www.eventmakeronline.com/sta/view/index.asp?meetingid=76. There is no fee for the CPC Proposer's Day workshop. Registration is limited by the venue capacity (maximum of 75 attendees) and early registration is strongly recommended. The registration cutoff date is May 15, 2006, or at attendance capacity, whichever comes first. Further administrative information is available from Dan Wright (dan.wright.ctr@darpa.mil). Additional technical information can be obtained from Donald Leo (donald.leo@darpa.mil). Please refer to the ?CPC Proposer's Day? workshop in your correspondence. This announcement is not a request for proposals.
