Description
The National Institutes of Health (NIH), National Institute of Child and Human Development (NICHD) intends to procure on a sole source basis with CDM Group Inc., 5530 Wisconsin Ave., Ste. 1660, Chevy Chase, MD 20815 to provide Data Collection for Pediatric Diabetes Study. The contractor shall provide the following: 1) The work to be performed will support the goals of the branch. The study will assess management of diabetes in adolescents during the transition into young adulthood and evaluate a transition intervention designed to increased adherence to the diabetes regimen. 2) This pilot study will examine the transition from pediatric to adult diabetes care and investigate the feasibility and effectiveness of a plan for improving this transition. This will support the data collect from 50 patients undergoing the transition and their parents, and 110 young adults who have already been through the transition. The 50 transition patients and their parents will complete 2 surveys using the internet and the 100 young adults will complete 1 survey using the internet. By Authority: 41 U.S.C. 253 (c) (1), as set forth in FAR 6.302-1, only one responsible source and no other supplies or service will satisfy agency requirements. Interested parties may identify their interest and capability to respond to the requirement or submit proposals. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive proposals. However, all proposals received within 22 days after publication of this synopsis will be considered by the Government. A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed contract based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. Information received will normally be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement.
