Description

Gun Shield for the 25 MM main gun of the Bradley Fighting Vehicle. Material is armor steel, forging, per MIL-S-13823 or optional material, Armor Steel, Class 2, per SPEC MIL-A-12560. Overall dimensions in inches are 22.75 length, by 1.38 width, by approx. 1.0 thickness. Item has four (4) slots, 0.438 by 0.625. Protective finish is Forest Green Enamel per MIL-E-52798 or MIL-E-52835. The anticipated contract will be for a fixed unit price and quantity, currently estimated at 164 units. The contrac t will have two option quantities not to exceed 100% of the initial quantity. Delivery terms will be FOB-Destination. The Request For Proposal (RFP) solicitation is estimated to be issued on or about 28 April 2006. The RFP will be issued electronically in accordance with FAR 4.502 and 5.102, therefore, hard copies will not be provided. Vendors wishing an electronic copy may download it on or after the issue date by accessing the following address, via the internet: https://aais.ria.army.mil/aais/SOLINF O/index.htm. CAUTION: This solicitation will be issued electronically, as will any amendments thereto. Because of this, the Government is under no obligation, and is in fact unable to maintain a bidders mailing list. It is therefore incumbent upon any interested parties to periodically access the above internet address in order to obtain any amendments which may be issued. Failure to obtain any said amendments and to respond to them prior to the date and time set for bid opening/receipt of proposals ma y render your bid or proposal nonresponsive, and result in the rejection of same. This solicitation is restricted as a total small business set-aside. Offers from concerns that are other than small business are not solicited.
