- Description
- This is a synopsis for the purchase of Distinctive Uniforms for the United States Air Force Academy cadets consisting of men’s coats, women’s coats, men’s trousers, women’s slacks, women’s skirts, men and women’s overcoats. Garments shall be manufactured from tropical, wool, polyester/wool, elastique, sponged material in accordance with USAF Academy specifications. The basic fabric only will be provided to the successful offeror as Government Furnished Material (GFM). The proposed contract will be a commercial, firm-fixed-price requirements contract with a basic period (date of award through 30 Sep 06) and 4 one-year options. Estimated yearly quantities (to include fill-in orders) are: coat, men’s – 2000 each, coat, women’s – 450 each, trousers, men’s – 5200 pair, slacks, women’s – 700 pair, skirt, women’s – 175 each, overcoat, men’s 600 each, overcoat women’s – 175 each. Exact quantities and sizes will be provided no later than 15 December of each year with the exception of any fill-ins issued. A clause contained in this request for proposal is 252.225-7012, Preference for Certain Domestic Commodities also referred to as the Berry Amendment. The Berry Amendment applies only to Department of Defense (DoD) and has been included in DoD Appropriations Act since 1841. The Act restricts DoD’s expenditures of funds for supplies consisting in whole or in part of certain articles and items not grown or produced in the United States or it’s possessions. Delivery is FOB Destination to USAF Academy, CO 80840 NLT 30th of September each year. While price will be a significant factor in the evaluation of offerors, the final contract award will be based on best value as all or none. Request for Proposal FA7000-06-R-0019 will be available on or about 17 Feb 06. No telephone requests for this solicitation will be allowed. Offerors are to be received at the Operational Contracting Office, 8110 Industrial Drive, Suite 200, USAF Academy, CO 80840-2315, on or about 27 Feb 06, 4:00 PM Mountain Time. The NAICS Code is 315222. This proposed acquisition is unrestricted. All size businesses are encouraged to submit proposals.
