Description
This is a total small business set-aside acquisition. This project consists of hand cutting ashe juniper trees on approximately 4,000 acres on Fort Hood Military Installation. All plants, up to 8 feet tall, will be cut. Cut plants will be left where they fall and not placed in piles, windrows, or chipped. Acceptable methods of treatment are limited to hand cutting methods (i.e. chainsaws, loppers and weed whackers with metal blades for smaller trees) and skid-steer machinery equipped with non-excavating attachments which will cut, clip or sever trees, leaving a two to four inch stump height. No ground disturbance is allowed. Vehicles can only be used to access areas designated for ashe juniper control. Work shall be accomplished in accordance with all laws, regulations, clauses, and requirements of Department of Defense, Fort Hood, and NRCS. The purpose is to maintain open areas for military training lands and to improve vegetative cover that will slow erosion and sedimentation on Fort Hood. Only one award will be made for the entire project. The NAICS Code is 113310, small business size is 500 employees or less. Price range is from $100,000 to $250,000. Site showing will be conducted on May 4, 2006, 9:00 A.M., at the Gatesville Ft Hood Project Office, 105 Memorial Dr., Gatesville TX 76528. Solicitation will be posted and be available to download on or about April 24, 2006.
