Description
The Office of Naval Research (ONR) plans to conduct an Industry Day on 02 May 2006 for an upcoming BAA on the Large Tactical Sensor Network program. All attendees must hold a Secret clearance. The location is expected to be near the Ballston Metro in Arlington, VA. Specific details concerning location, time, pre-registration, and clearance verification will be posted on the FORCEnet S&T website (https://www.onr.navy.mil/forcenet_large_sensor_nets). All attendees must register before 12:00 PM (Local Eastern Time) on Friday, 28 April 2006. The topics of the Large Tactical Sensor BAA will include: ? Designing tools for mission specific tactical sensor fields capable of fulfilling specific mission objectives. ? Developing smart sensors capable of forwarding information/knowledge vice raw data. ? Creating a service oriented sensor network (SOA) for expeditionary forces? current and future tactical sensors. ? Creating fusion engines capable of translating tactical sensor data into appropriate situational awareness for expeditionary forces in near real-time. ? Developing knowledge discovery engines and automatic alerts that enable the ?right information? to be pushed/pulled ? Automating platform and sensor planning and management in a rapid automated manner to ensure that the right data is collected by the right sensor in support of intelligence requirements. ? Developing tailored tactical Human to Machine Interfaces aligned to primary operational functions and is non-intrusive within the battlespace.
