Description
The Great Lakes Acquisition Center (GLAC) intends to negotiate a sole source contract with Modular Packaging Systems, Inc. (Modular King) of Pine Brook New Jersey, for the purchase of a MTC-12 Electronic Filling/Tablet Counter System, for the Great Lakes Consolidated Mail Outpatient Pharmacy, Hines IL. This procurement is being conducted in accordance with FAR 6.302 - only one responsible source and no other vendor will satisfy agency requirements. NAICS 339115. To the best of our knowledge, Modular Packaging Systems, Inc. (Modular King) of Pine Brook New Jersey, it the only source that can provide the MTC-12, which has been identified as a component of an existing system, manufactured and distributed by the stated contractor and referred to as the Modular Kaps All repackaging line of equipment. More specifically, any replacement component must be compatible with the existing equipment and it must be seamlessly integrated into the overall system operations. Salient characteristics include the following: 1. The machine must be capable of programming the tray vibration frequency to "0" frequency for tablets counts of 2 -12. 2. The machine must utilize a funnel vibrator to decrease clogging of large tablets at funnel neck. 3. The machine must be capable of programming the shutter operation to provide a sequenced fill delay for large tablets to prevent over counts. 4. The machine footprint must to fit into current line 53" W X 52" D X 69"-81" H). 5. The machine must be capable of testing each eye bank sensor and its respective shutter individually. 6. The eye bank sensors are to be compliant with 21 CFR GMP's (Good Manufacturing Practices). This notice of intent is not a request for competitive quotes. No solicitation document is available and telephone requests will not be accepted. However, any firm that believes it can meet these requirements may give written notification to the Contracting Officer within fourteen (10) calendar days from the date of publication of this synopsis. Supporting evidence must be furnished in sufficient detail, to demonstrate the ability to comply with the above requirements. Information can be sent to the Contracting Officer, VAMC-GLAC, Building 5, 5000 W. National Ave. Bldg. 5, Milwaukee WI 53295 or via fax to (414) 902-5440. Responses received will be evaluated however; a determination by the Government not to compete the proposed procurement based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. If no responses are received, the GLAC will proceed with the sole source negotiation with Modular Packaging Systems, Inc. (Modular King) of Pine Brook New Jersey.
