Description

1. This is an amendment to answer questions concerning the combined synopsis/solicitation W911QX-06-T-0055. QUESTION: It is understood that the Government wants the furnace to run in Argon. Is the Argon flowing through the system at temperature, steady state, or partial pressure? ANSWER: The Government wants the furnace to run under a partial pressure of Argon or under an active vacuum. The Government is not planning to flow Argon at temperature. The partial pressure of Ar would be no greater than 10 Torr. QUESTION: Do the Government need a paper chart recorder, or is the controller data acquisition sufficient? This is a visual version of the chart recorder, which can be stored or printed. ANSWER: The Government does not need a paper chart recorder. The Controller data acquisition will be sufficient. QUESTION: Does the Government want the clean dry ambient chamber to read 10-6 Torr and then when heated to 1200C maintain 10-5 Torr? ANSWER: Yes, that would be the minimum level of performance required. QUESTION: How far is the 480V, 3PH, 60Hz, 175KV located from the furnace installation location? How far are the water, air and gas input lines? ANSWER: The power, water, air and gas input lines are located from 2 to 15 feet from the installation location.
