Description
-This announcement is modified to change the solicitation number to W912QRCHRISTITX only. The response date and all other terms and conditions remain the same. A MARKET SURVEY is being conducted to determine if there are adequate 8(a), HubZone or SDVSB contractors for this proposed contract for a Competitive Set-Aside Award. The proposed contract will be for the design and construction of a 120,000 SF con trolled humidity warehouse with enclosed 2,400 SF administrative area. Construction includes reinforced concrete frame, pre-cast concrete wall panels, reinforced concrete floor and roof, required utilities, and site improvements. The administrative area will ha ve individual heating, ventilating, and air conditioning (HVAC) controllers. This project is similar to Phase II of the Army Reserve Controlled Humidity Storage Complex build in 2004 at Construction Battalion Center (CBC), Gulfport, MS. The entire wareh ouse will also be equipped with a fire protection system. Force protection (physical security) measures will be incorporated into design including maximum feasible standoff distance from roads, parking areas, vehicle unloading areas, berms, heavy la ndsca ping, and bollards to prevent access when standoff distance cannot be maintained. This project is planned for advertisement in June 2006 with award scheduled in July 2006. Contract duration is estimated at 500 days. NAICS is 236220. The size standard is $28.5 million. The estimated cost range is between $5,000,000.00 and $10,000,000.00. 20% of the work is to be self-performed. All interested 8(a), HubZone or SDVSB businesses should notify this office in writing by mail or fax by 24 April 2006. 4:00 pm , l ocal time. Responses should include: (1) Identification and verification of company as a 8(a), HubZone or SDVSB business, (2) Past Experience- Describe completed projects that are similar in size, scope to the proposed project, the percentage of self-p er formed work and how that was accomplished, (3) Capability of obtaining performance and payment bonds for a project in the dollar amount listed above, and (4) a statement verifying the contractor will perform 20% of the work and how it will be accomplishe d . NOTE: If qualified 8(a), HubZone or SDVSB business firms do not respond, this planned contract action will be converted to full and open competition.
