Description

The Seattle District Corps of Engineers has a competitive requirement to construct a new resistance training compound at Fairchild AFB, Washington, to consolidate existing training roles which now take place in numerous buildings located at Survival School on Fairchild AFB. The building will simulate a third-world style environment and will include a fenced exterior ya rd. The project will include design and construction of the facility including structural foundation design, concrete masonry unit (CMU) architecture, extensive site preparation, complex utilities, communication infrastructure, and demolition of existing buildings and septic system. Estimated dollar value is in the range of $5,000,000 to $10,000,000 and the completion period is 540 calendar days. The Standard Industrial Classification (SIC) Code has been replaced by the North American Industry Classificat ion System (NAICS) Code. The NAICS code for this project is 236220, which is matched to SIC Code 1542. This requirement will be a Best Value procurement conducted in accordance with procedures outlined in Federal Acquisition Regulations (FAR) Part 15. The solicitation will be a Request for Proposals using two-phase design-build procedure in accordance with FAR Part 36, and a fixed-price contract will be negotiated as a result of this procurement. This solicitation will be issued in electronic format only and will be available to download on or about 26 April 2006 at: http://www.FedTeDS.gov. NO CD's OR HARD COPIES WILL BE AVAILABLE.
