Description

The National Park Service at Steamtown NHS in Scranton, PA is seeking quotes for coal deliveries. This is a combined synopsis/solicitation for commercial items prepared in accordance with the format in FAR Subpart 12.6, as supplemented with additional information included in this notice. This announcement constitutes the only solicitation; proposals are requested, and a written solicitation will not be issued. The solicitation number to reference is Request for Quotes #Q4810060032. This is a small-business set-aside. The NAICS code is 423520, the PSC is 9110, and the size standard is 100 employees or less. Coal specifications: Sulfur: .5% to .9% max. Ash content: 5% to 7% Volatile: 16% to 25% BTU: 13,000 to 16,000 Size: 2" x 4" lump/egg Quantity: Approximately 425 tons FOB DESTINATION to Scranton, Pennsylvania. Delivery: By truck, 25 tons each, approx. 17 loads, as per delivery schedule. Delivery schedule: Two trucks, every two weeks, beginning the week of May 22, 2006. Evaluation: Lowest responsive/responsible quote NOTE: COAL SHALL BE SCREENED FOR REMOVAL OF DEBRIS AND FOREIGN MATERIAL PRIOR TO DELIVERY. CONTRACTOR SHALL PROVIDE CHEMICAL ANALYSIS OF EACH COAL DELIVERY, 5 DAYS PRIOR TO DELIVERY, TO ENSURE CONFORMANCE WITH SPECS. DELIVERIES NOT MEETING SPECS, OR CONTAINING EXCESSIVE DEBRIS, WILL BE REFUSED. COAL RE-LOADING DUE TO REFUSAL OF DELIVERY WILL BE AT THE CONTRACTORS EXPENSE. Quotes should reflect FOB DESTINATION.
