- Description
- The National Park Service, Golden Gate Recreational Area, located in San Francisco, is seeking a contractor to furnish all labor, materials, equipment and expertise necessary to stabilize the Golden Gate Diary House by creating a perimeter foundation, replacing interior foundation piers and adding a slab floor on approximately one half of the basement area. The solicitation will be issued electronically on the Department of Interior's (DOI) National Business Center (NBC) web site at http://ideasec.nbc.gov. Paper copies of this solicitation will not be made available. Interested contractors desiring to conduct business with DOI are requested to register at the web site. Contractors wishing to receive electronic notification of changes will need to register to receive notification of this specific solicitation at http://ideasec.nbc.gov. This service is provided for convenience only and does not serve as a guarantee of notification. Subscribers to this service are ultimately responsible for reviewing the web site for all information relevant to this solicitation. Plan holders will be required to visit this web site periodically to check for amendments and other changes to the procurement documents. No other notifications will be sent. Project Description: The anticipated work includes, but is not limited to the following: (a) some of the existing wooden structure will be demolished; this could include the current "Laundry Structure". (b) The Chimney (not currently utilized) will be preserved. (c) The soils that have accumulated around the building will require removal. (d) Removal of all excavated and demolished and residual materials from construction process. (e) Site will be cleaned after construction; drainage condition will have no instances of water "back draining" into the building. End results of the Project: A seismically sound foundation with a dry, concrete floored area able to be used as storage by the local Volunteer Fire Department. Successful contractor will also be required to provide "As Built" plans upon completion ("field set" will be accepted). This procurement is 100% set-a-side for Service Disabled, Veteran-Owned Business Firms. The National Park Service welcomes the participation of Women and Minority Firms. This is not a Request for Proposal. The Request for Quote (RFQ) will be issued o/a May 05, 2006 with a closing date of o/a June 16, 2006. RFQ will state Site Visit date and time. In accordance with the federal Acquisition Regulations (FAR), Part 36.0, the estimated magnitude of construction is between $25,000.00 and $100,000.00. NAICS code for this project is 238190 with a small business size standard of $13.0 million. Award selection will be based on the overall best value to the government after considering price and factors other than price.
