Description
Medical Supplies - Potential Sources Sought Military Hospitals: (Army, Navy, Air Force) Southwest Region UROLOGY SUPPLIES ? Standardization Point of Contact: Cindy Ingrao, Clinical Consultant, Tri-Service Regional Business Office, Southwest Region, San Diego, CA. Telephone: (619) 532-8517. Potential sources sought to participate in the regional standardization of Urology Supplies. Southwest Region, a military integrated delivery network (IDN), comprised of Army, Navy and Air Force medical treatment centers in California are in the process of standardizing Urology Supplies. If your company currently holds or is in the process of obtaining a Distribution and Pricing Agreement (DAPA) with the Defense Supply Center-Philadelphia (DSCP) for Urology Supplies, your company is eligible to participate in the standardization process. If your company is not a current DAPA holder for this product line, you are still eligible to participate in the standardization process by contacting the Defense Supply Center, Philadelphia (DSCP), Mr. John Charalabidis at (215) 737-7124 or e-mail at john.charalabidis@dla.mil to apply for a DAPA. Your company can be considered once DAPA paperwork is pending at DSCP Please respond by Email: cingrao@nmcsd.med.navy.mil and provide your company name, address, point of contact, telephone, fax and E-mail address and answers to the below listed questions no later than May 3, 2006. For questions, please call (619) 532-8517. 1.Does your company manufacture a full line of urology supplies (catheters, urine meters, collection bags, etc.) for adults and pediatrics? 2.Are your products available through the Prime Vendor, Owens & Minor and Cardinal? 3.What is your DAPA Number? 4.Under what brand(s) does your company manufacture or distribute your product? 5.Under what standards are your products manufactured? 6.What types of urology supplies does your company offer? 7.What types of materials are your products available in? 8.What sizes do your catheters and urine meters come in? 9.Are your products latex free? 10.Are your products available in a variety of sizes for pediatrics (including neonates) and adults? 11.Are your catheters coated? If so, with what material(s) and what is the purpose of the coating? Do you have published studies to support your claims on the efficacy of the coating? 12.Do your catheters have a feature that makes it easy to insert? 13.How many milliliters of water does it take to inflate the balloon in your foley catheter line? Is sterile water the only product that can be used for inflation? If so, why? 14.Are your catheters radiopaque? How does the clinician know the catheter is radiopaque? 15.What are the gradations of your urine collection bags and meters? 16.Do your urine collection bags and urine meters have a feature that prevents urine from entering the tube should the bag be at the level of the patient? 17.What type of feature does your urine collection bag and urine meter have for draining? Does this feature prevent splashing of urine as it is drained? Describe how. 18.Does your tubing have a feature for collecting samples under sterile technique? If so, describe that feature and the process for collecting the urine under sterile technique. 19.Does your tubing have a feature for securing it to the patient? How does this feature work? 20.Do your collection bags and urine meters have a cap or sleeve to protect the end from contamination as it hangs on the bedside? 21.What type of device does your collection bag and urine meter have for securing it to the patient?s bed, wheel chair or gurney? Does the device require one or two hands to secure it to the bed? 22.Do you have an all inclusive sterile catheterization kit that has the prep solution, forceps, cotton balls etc.? If so, do you offer the kit with and without a urine meter? 23.Is the foley catheter in the kit pre-attached to the drainage bag? 24.What size foley catheter and balloon are available for the kit? 25.What are the items contained in your foley trays? If your tray contains gloves, what material are the gloves made of? Is there an option to change the type of glove contained in the tray? Is there an option not to have gloves in the tray? 26.What are the items contained in your urine meter foley trays? If your tray contains gloves, what material are the gloves made of? Is there an option to change the type of glove contained in the tray? Is there an option not to have gloves in the tray? 27.Do your catheters come in a package that can be delivered to a sterile field? 28.What types of educational tools or materials do you have for this product line? 29.What kind of staff training does your company provide? 30.Does your company provide customer service 24/7? 31.Is there any history of backorders and/or recalls for this product group?
