Description

This modification provides answers to questions submitted on 4/14 and 4/17. 1. After visiting the site, there seems to be many more cracks in the pavement than is indicated on the plans. Is our bid to be based on the quantities and locations shown on the drawings or are we responsible for a complete crack repair in all areas that currently exist. Response: The bidder is to include in his base bid the cost to clean and seal coat 7225 square yards of existing pavement and to clean and repair 3500 linear feet of cracked pavement. In addition, the bidder is to provide unit costs for both items in accordance with Specification Section 01200 1.8.G.2. As each area is released to the contractor an existing conditions survey will be conducted to verify the extent of repairs required. The contract price will be adjusted according to the add/deduct unit prices based on the actual extent of the repairs to be completed as directed by the COR. 2. Does any of the existing pipe insulation contain asbestos? Response: The Asbestos Survey and Evaluation for the USDA New York Animal Import Center at Rock Tavern Prepared by NTH Consultants on September 23, 2002 concluded that no asbestos containing materials was present on the plumbing piping. Questions still to be answered. 1) Engine Generators - Is a permanent load bank really required with the generator or is this just for startup testing? 2) Is electrical piping for interior work EMT? 3) Is buried conduit PVC (from Pole P11 to transformer/generator)?
