Description
The purpose of this amendment is to respond to questions from industry regarding clarifications of the requirements as follows: 1) Question -- The solicitation includes the following requirement -- The system shall also include the capability of conducting remote measurements using a fiber optic probe -- Would a remote fiber optic probe Raman system that is separate from the microscope, but tied to the same computer satisfy this requirement? Answer -- Yes, as long as the quote includes the functionality required. 2) Question -- The solicitation includes the following requirement -- Precision confocal optical microscope and color video imaging system, with multiple magnification ranges up to 100x -- Is this the microscope objective magnification? Answer -- Yes. 3) Question -- The solicitation includes the following requirement -- Total fluorescence imaging -- Can you clarify this requirement? Answer -- The systems should provide a fluorescence image. 4) Question -- The solicitation includes the following requirement -- Adjustable spot size laser(s) -- Can you clarify this requirement? Answer -- The system should be able to measure different size areas on the samples. 5) Question -- The solicitation includes the following requirement -- CCD detector -- CCDs have a huge performance difference dependent on the chip type and size, the temperature that they operate (room temperature, -20degc, -70degc). How will the CCD specification be assessed? Answer -- The CCD will be assessed based on total performance. 6) Question -- The solicitation includes the following requirement -- Light source for fluorescence analysis -- Could this be taken as the laser source? Answer -- Any light source that provides the stated measurement capability is acceptable. 7) Question -- The solicitation includes the following requirement -- Fluorescence suppression for Raman analysis -- Can you clarify this requirement? Answer -- Fluorescence suppression is the ability to moderate or eliminate undesirable fluorescence signals from the measurement. 8) Question -- May multiple quotes be offered from a single vendor? Answer -- Yes, however each bid must stand on its own. 9) Question -- How should a vendor indicate where they exceed the requirements? Answer: The Government will not dictate a format, however, the solicitation states -- ****Evaluation of Technical Capability shall be based on the information provided in the quotation. Quotations shall include the make and model of the products, manufacturer sales literature or other product literature, which CLEARLY DOCUMENTS that the offered product(s) meet or exceed the specifications stated above. 10) All other terms of this solicitation remain unchanged.
