Description

SUBJECT: NOTICE OF INTENT TO AWARD A SOLE SOURCE PROCUREMENT DESC: Under the authority of FAR 6.302-1, it is the Government's intent to award a sole source to Thermo Electron Scientific Instruments, 5225 Verona Road, Madison WI 53711, for the annual maintenance of an X-Ray Detector and Analyzer. Thermo Electron can provide the required service which best meets the Governments needs, prices and other factors to support our mission needs. It is essential that we use the original manufacture (Thermo Elec tron) of the equipment to maintain, repair or replace the unit as needed. Thermo Electron has proprietary rights and can provide immediate technical support to the Institute for the various protocols being used. This is not a formal solicitation. This syno psis is not considered a Request for Quotation or Proposal. No solicitation document is available and telephone requests will not be honored. No contract will be awarded on the basis of offers received in response to this notice. Any response to this notic e must show clear and convincing evidence that competition would be advantageous to the Government. If no affirmative written response is received, the service will be awarded without further notice. A determination by the Government not to compete this pr oposed contract based on this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government.
