Description
The Fort Knox Directorate of Contracting is conducting market research for the following requirement: Arabic Translator/Interpreter (ATI) Services for the U.S. Army Recruiting Command (USAREC). The requirement contains English/Modern Arabic transla tor and interpreter functions as well as recruiting functions. Translator/Interpreter functions include: translate and interpret the spoken or written words and expressions from one language into another, provide consecutive or simultaneous interpretation between languages, express either an approximate or exact int erpretation, interpret the emotion of the sales interview presentation verbalized by the recruiter, read written text and translate documents from one language to another within 48 hours, and provide services when needed at various locations specified b y the supported battalion. Recruiting functions include: Centers of Influence (COI) and lead generation activities. COIs are educators or key influencers in the community that can support the field recruiting force by improving recruiter access to high schools and post secondary in stitutions. Lead generation are those activities necessary to develop ties with the local, regional, and state community members to generate leads for the U.S. Army. The government will provide specialized training at the assigned U.S. Army Recruiting Ba ttalion, as necessary, to assist in lead generation activities. Locations and number of positions currently required are: Dearborn, MI (3), Detroit, MI (2), Baltimore, MD (2), Brooklyn, NY (2), Chicago, IL (2), Newark, NJ (1), Boston, MA (1), San Antonio, TX (1), Sacramento, CA (1), Los Angeles, CA (1), Houston, TX (1) , Dallas, TX (1), Atlanta, GA (1), Orlando, FL (1). Locations may be added and/or deleted as required. This synopsis is not a request for proposal. It is a market research tool being used to determine procurement strategy. Appropriate procurement strategy will be determined after consideration of industry response to this sources sought synopsis. The gov ernment is not obligated to, and will not, pay for any information received from potential sources as a result of this synopsis.
