Description

000HCN86-2006-30173 The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) intends to award, on a sole source basis, a purchase order to Cambridge Isotope laboratoreis, Inc, 50 Frontage Road, Andover, MA 01810-5413. The authority for this sole source procurement is FAR 6.301 and 13.106-1. A purchase order will be issued for custom synthesis of the following organic compounds: 1.)20 Each, Parlar 26 (U-13C, 99%)-labeled 10ug/ml in nonane 2.)20 Each, Parlar 50 (U-13C, 99%)-labeled 10ug/ml 3.)20 Each, Parlar 62 (U-13C, 99%)-labeled 10ug/ml. Justification for other than full and open competition is considered due to continued need to match existing products for on-going research involving the accurate analysis of toxaphenes being conducted by the CDC, National Center for Environmental Health. Failure to procure existing Carbon-13 labeled standandards in purities and batch lots currently offered by Cambridge Isotope Laboratories will alter or contaminate assays required for on-going research being conducted by the CDC. This is not a request for competitive proposals and no solicitation is available. Firms that believe they can provide the organic chemicals by predetermined and specified purity are encouraged to identify themselves and give written notification to the Contracting Officer within 5 days of the publication date of this synopsis. Determination by the Government not to compete this proposed action based on responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the U.S. Government.
