- The Federal Bureau of Prisons has a requirement for the provision of a Radiology Technician services for the inmate population at the Metropolitan Detention Center Guaynabo (MDC) located in San Juan, Puerto Rico 00922-2146. The small business size standard for this requirement is $6.5 million and the NAICS is 621399. The contractor shall be responsible for, but not limited to: performing and developing radiographs; packaging and shipping examination films service for interpretation; monitoring the return of all examination reports and films; filing reports and films; creating folders; perform processor quality control duties; administer exchange program of radiologic dosimetry badges and submit dosimetry reports; maintain radiology library; provide continuos inspection of radiology equipment; evaluate radiology procedures and recommend modifications; evaluate and maintain equipment exposure settings and perform adjustments as required; maintain supply inventories and advise health services staff of any shortages. It is estimated that the contractor will perform 1,440 one hour sessions per year. The contractor shall be a licensed radiology technician in the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico and a graduate of an accredited school of radiology technology. The contract period will consist of a 12-month base period and four 12-month option periods for renewal. The work is expected to start on or about July 1, 2006. A Government proposal to provide these services is being developed, and a contract may or may not result. Market research is being conducted to determine interest and capability of potential sources for this requirement. All information submitted in response to this announcement is voluntary and the Government will not pay for information provided to the Government. The Market Research Survey Questionnaire will be available on or about April 21, 2006, and will be distributed solely through General Service Administration, Federal Business Opportunities web site http://www.fedbizopps.gov/. The site provides downloading instructions. All future information about this acquisition, including solicitation and/or amendments, will be distributed solely through this site to ensure that they have the most up-to-date information regarding this acquisition. The response date for the market survey is May 5, 2006. No collect calls will be accepted. No telephone request or written request for the market survey will be accepted. All responses to the Market Survey Questionnaire may be submitted in hard copy to U.S. Department of Justice, Federal Bureau of Prisons, Field Acquisition Office, U.S. Armed Forces Reserve Complex, 346 Marine Forces Drive, Grand Prairie, TX 75051, Attn: Michael Rouanzion, Contracting Officer.
