Description: This is a combined synopsis/solicitation for commercial items prepared in accordance with the format in Subpart 12.6, as supplemented with additional information included in this notice. This announcement constitutes the only solicitation; proposals are being requested and a written solicitation will not be issued. The Dugway Proving Ground, Directorate of Contracting is contemplating a sole source procurement with R.M. YOUNG COMPANY, 2801 Aero Park Drive, Traverse City, MI. 49686 for the purchase of wind sensors and monitors and T/RH shields, and sonic anemometers for the Surface Atmospheric Measurement Systems (SAMS) for the West Desert Test Center (WDTC) located at U.S. Army, Dugway Proving Ground, Utah installation. Pursuant to 10 U.S.C. 2304 ( c)(1), and Federal Acquisition Regulation 6.302-1, supplies, services, and/or equipment required are available from one responsible source and no other type of supplies, services, and/or equipment will satisfy agency requirements. THIS IS NOT A REQUEST FO R COMPETITIVE QUOTES; however, all responsible sources may submit a quotation which shall be considered by the agency. Supporting evidence must be furnished to demonstrate the ability to comply with the Government's requirements. If no responses are rece ived, the Government will proceed with sole source negotiations with R.M. YOUNG COMPANY The suggested vendor,. This combined synopsis and solicitation for the following commercial items: (1) wind sensors for the Surface Atmospheric Measurement System, and need to be all of the same type. R.M.Young is the only manufacturer of the radiation shields and wind monitors that are compatible with WDTC current Sonic Portable Weather Instrumentation Data System (Sonic-PWIDS). (2) Grill 12-plate T/RH/ shields for the SAMS System. (3) Sonic Anemometer. This solicitation is issued as a request for quote (RFQ). Submit written offers (oral offers will not be accepted), on RFQ W911S6-06-T-0036. All firms or individuals responding must be registered with the Central Contractor Registration (CCR). North American Industrial Classification Standard 334519 (500 employees) applies to this procurement.
