Description
A market survey is being conducted to determine if there are adequate 8a, HUBZone and Service Disabled Veteran Owned Small Business contractors to provide all labor, equipment, supplies, and consultant services to design and construct the 944th Civil Engineering Squadron (CES) Building and the Fire Station #2 Annex at Luke Air Force Base, Arizona to result in complete and useable facilities. The CES Building will consist of approximately 21,782 SF of space over two stories. The building will include administrative areas, classrooms, warehouse space, an arms vault, common areas, mechanical areas, stairwells, and an elevator. The project will also include modifications to an existing parking lot to achieve adequate stand-off distance, connection sidewa lks, landscaping, and fencing. Supporting utilities shall include gas, sewer, water, and underground electrical and communication services. The CES Building project also includes the demolition of Canopy 333, the relocation of Canopy 331, and the demolitio n of Building 354. The Fire Station #2 Annex, which will be an option, will consist of approximately 2,750 SF of space in a single story. The building will include administrative areas, storage areas, a classroom, restrooms/ locker rooms, mechanical areas, and common areas. The project will also include an exterior plaza area, partially covered by a metal trellis, and landscaping. Supporting utilities shall include gas, sewer, water, and underground electrical and communication services. This project is pla nned for advertising in Jun 2006 with approximate award date of September 2006. Contract duration is estimated at 540 days. The estimated cost range is between $5,000,000 and $10,000,000. 15% of the work is to be self-performed. All interested SBA HUBZ one certified or SBA 8(a) certified or SDVOB contractors should notify this office in writing by mail or fax by May 11, 2006 before 4:00 Louisville local time. Responses should include (1) Identification of the company as either a SBA HUBZone certified or SBA 8(a) certified or SDVOB, (2) Past Experience - describe completed projects that are similar in size and scope ot the proposed project, the percentage of self-performed work, how the project was accomplished and performance rating for the work, (3) Let ter from bonding agency indicating performance and payment bonds approval for the project in the dollar range listed above and (4) a statement verifying the contractor will perform 15% of the work and how it will be accomplished. NOTE: If qualified SBA H UBZone certified or SBA 8(a) certified or SDVOB contractors do not respond, this planned contract action will be converted to a full and open competition.
