- The intent of this contract is to construct Boat Ramp and parking areas for Fairview Boat Ramp, Trinity Lake, Shasta-Trinity National Recreation Area. Project work includes: Parking areas and Road: remove and clear existing planting areas and islands, excavation of existing surface and sub grade, pulverizing surfacing for reuse, removal and disposal of existing vault toilet, removal and replacement of three culverts and drop inlet; removal of area drain and install new catch basin, removal and disposal of unsuitable material on rocky cut slope; construction of a 52 LF (linear foot) Timber binwall, placement of aggregate for base course and placement of asphalt; construction of 430 LF three foot wide reinforced sidewalk and 190 LF five foot reinforced sidewalk, both with outside curbing; construction of curb surrounding parking area. Work includes striping and miscellaneous signs, symbols and letters. Islands: there will be two islands both with a contractor supplied bathroom, solar lighting and trash receptacles; total approx. 75 LF five foot wide reinforced sidewalks; one island will contain a kiosk; Contractor to construct foundation and install Government-furnished signage and fee tub. Roof for kiosk will be an Optional bid item. Boat Ramp: Existing ramp (450 LF) to be overlaid with 6 inch reinforced concrete; ramp is to be widened to a uniform 60 feet width with a 6 foot wide sidewalk added to the outside edge (approximately 700 CY concrete) with Class VI riprap protecting the new fill slope (850 CY). A rail system for future boarding floats is to be incorporated into the sidewalk. PROJECT LOCATION: Project is located on the Shasta-Trinity National Forest Recreation Area, Trinity Lake, Trinity County, California. From Redding, take Highway 299 West for approximately 28 miles to the Lewistown/Trinity Lake turnoff. Turn right and follow County Road 105 for approximately 15 miles to Trinity Dam. Continue for approximately one mile to Fairview Ramp and Marina. PRE-BID CONFERENCE: A pre-bid meeting is scheduled be held at project location on May 15, 2006 at 10:00 a.m. ESTIMATE START WORK DATE: September 5, 2006. CONTRACT TIME: 90 calendar days. ESTIMATED PRICE RANGE: between $1,000,000 and $5,000,000. The Solicitation will be available for downloading from this website on or about May 8, 2006 with a due date of June 7, 2006, close of business.
