Description
The National Institutes of Health (NIH) intends to negotiate with Consolidated Solutions & Innovations of Gaithersburg, MD for the following services: 1. The contractor shall have at least six (6) years of experience in coordinating meetings/workshops to identify research opportunities and approaches that can be used to evaluate the possible role of dietary supplements. 2. The contractor shall have an in-depth knowledge (a minimum of four (4) years) of the mission and requirements of the National Institutes of Health (NIH) Office of Dietary Supplements (ODS). 3. The contractor shall coordinate meetings/workshops for implementation of ODS to identify research opportunities and approaches that can be used to evaluate the possible role of dietary supplements by focusing on the following areas: Shall provide the NIH with updates of the current state of the science on dietary supplements. Shall generate discussions of the set of scientific questions to be answered. Shall provide NIH with examples of the types of research that can be conducted. Shall provide a list of anticipated outcomes from the workshops and meetings to include, but shall not be limited to the state of the science in this area and promising areas and approaches for future research. 4. The contractor shall meet monthly on-site with NIH workshop and meeting sponsor representatives in regard to progress and status of tasks and related administrative matters. 5. The contractor shall prepare invitation letters and related correspondence. 6. The contractor shall handle registrations of attendees. 7. The contractor shall assemble, collate, and provide copies of background materials to attendees in a binder. 8. The contractor shall provide on-site administrative support at the workshops and meetings including but shall not be limited to audiovisual services, recording, transcription, and amenities. 9. The contractor shall manage arrangements and reimbursements for travel, lodging, per-diem, and honoraria for invited speakers and discussants, within accepted United States government guidelines. 10. The contractor shall assist in the preparation of publishable reports from the workshops and meetings, including drafting, managing review by attendees, and mailing them to attendees and to identified NIH and other interested parties. 11. The contractor shall publish several publications and web site announcements due to the need of trans-disciplinary coverage. 12. The contractor shall draft, manage review, and edit several products to ensure consistency in scientific content and disciplinary orientation. 13. The period of performance shall begin immediately following award and shall end on 12/31/06. 1. This proposed action is for services for which the Government intends to solicit and negotiate with only one source. Interested parties may identify their interest and capability to respond to the requirement or submit proposals. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive quotations. However, all quotes received within ten days after the date of publication of this synopsis will be considered by the Government . A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed simplified acquisition requirement based upon responses to this notice is solely within the dicretion of the Government. Information received will normally be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive acquisition.
