Description
Provide A/E Services to prepare Phase I: Study/Assessment of the present Telephone Cabling Infrastructure (voice/data) at the Department of Veteran Affairs Medical Center, 3701 Loop Road E, Tuscaloosa, Alabama. This phase will include the study/survey of existing voice data cable pathways through out the Medical Center to determine if existing conditions are favorable for the installation of a proposed new telephone switch. The A/E firm will provide the survey report, findings, estimate for corrections, etc. Phase II: of this project will go to the A/E firm who is chosen to provide the services in Phase I if that A/E?s performance is considered acceptable to the VA. In Phase II the A/E will provide design documents, specifications and drawing based on the findings in Phase I. This announcement is restricted to A/E firms that are located within a 150 mile radius of Tuscaloosa, Alabama as determined by using 2006 version of Rand McNalley Road Atlas. The A/E firm will be evaluated with the following criteria: Factor number (1) is most important with factor number (2, 3, 5) equal to each other but somewhat less, important than factor number (1). Factor (4) is less important than (1, 2, 3, 5) but more important than factor (6), which is of least importance. The following are the rating factors. (1) Specialized Experience and Technical Competence (2) Specific Experience and Qualifications of Personnel Proposed. (3) Professional Capacity of the Firm in the Designated Geographic Area. (4) Past Record of Performance on Contracts with Government Agencies. (5) Geographic Location and Facilities of the Working Office. (6) Point Adjustment for Existing Design Work, and Existing Construction Period Services. Firms desiring consideration must submit their SF-330 Architect Engineer Qualifications by COB (4:00 PM CST) May 19, 2006 directly to: VA Medical Center Attn: Paul Weathersby (10N7/NLO), 3701 Loop Road East, Tuscaloosa, Alabama, 35404. A/E firms must be located within a 150 mile radius of Tuscaloosa, Alabama to be considered. The possible estimated construction cost in Phase II is between $1,000,000.00 and 1,500,000.00 The NAICS Code for this procurement is 541310.
