- NOTICE OF SOURCES SOUGHT/REQUEST FOR INFORMATION (RFI). This is a Sources Sought Notice Synopsis in support of a market survey being conducted by the Air Force to determine any interest and capability of potential sources. This synopsis is for informational and planning purposes only and does not constitute a solicitation, or a synopsis of a solicitation, or a commitment on the part of the Government to later publish a solicitation. The Government will not reimburse the costs of preparing or submitting a response to this synopsis. Any information submitted in response to this sources sought/RFI is strictly voluntary. Companies may provide a profile normally provided to the general public. Any questions should be submitted to the Contract Administrator listed above. United Stated Air Force is attempting to determine potential sources capable of fulfilling a need to demolish an existing elevated water tank and to replace with a new-elevated water tank. The tank to be demolished is a 300,000 gallon, 215 foot high elevated steel tank. The paint on the tank has tested positive for lead. Demolition of valves, some piping, tank foundations, lighting system and cathodic protection system will also be required, along with backfilling, contouring and other minor site work. The new tank will also be 300,000 gallon, 215 foot high elevated steel tank. Installation of valves, piping, obstruction lighting and cathodic protection will be required along with some minor site work. Design of the tank is to be provided by the successful bidder. There will be an optional bid item to rehabilitate a 400,000 gallon steel ground storage tank. This work will include removal and replacement of the existing protective coatings (both interior and exterior of the tank), the cathodic protection system, the existing exterior and interior ladders, all nuts and bolts for all interior rafter connections, the roof hatch and cover, the roof support rafters between the tank wall, various valves and the intermediate ring of the tank roof support columns. A new manhole, welded vent screen and repair of pitted areas will also be required. The paint on the tank has tested positive for lead. Only contractors with proven experience demolishing and installing elevated water tanks will be considered.
