Description

Arnold AFB, TN proposes a contract action for supplies and services with for which the Government intends to solicit and negotiate under authority of 10 U.S.C. 2304(c)(1) as implemented by FAR 6.302-1 with only one responsible source and no other supply or service will satisfy agency requirements for Reflective Memory fiber-optic network hardware from GE Fanuc Embedded Systems, 12090 South Memorial Parkway, Huntsville, AL 35803-3308. The following are the specification requirements: VMIPCI-5587A-111 with the following options: o 4 MB of Memory o 4 KB of Transfer FIFO o SC-Style, Gigabit Transceiver o Cable Adapter VMIACC-0480 o Configurable Node ID o Support at least 3 user-defined interrupts o Support Rogue Packet checking VMIPCI-5587A-111 Additional Specifications FUNCTIONAL PCI Transfer Rate: 44 Mbyte/s as a target or as DMA initiator Network Transfer Rate: 29.5 Mbyte/s (longword accesses) in nonredundant transfer mode 14.8 Mbyte/s (longword accesses) in redundant transfer mode Power Requirements: 5.0 A maximum at 3.3 or 5.0 VDC Host Bus Signaling: Supports 5 or 3 V signaling PHYSICAL/ENVIRONMENTAL Temperature Range: 0 to 65 ˚C, operating with forced air cooling. -40 to 85 ˚C, storage. GE Fanuc Embedded Systems is the only vendor found who can support this requirement. Supplies and/or services are available from only one responsible source. No other type of supply or service will satisfy agency requirements. This Notice of Intent is NOT a request for competitive proposals; however interested persons may identify their interest and capability to meet this requirement for the Governments consideration by submitting their product capabilities and qualifications to perform this effort in writing to the identified point of contact not later than 2:00PM local time on 8 May 2006. Such capabilities/qualifications will be evaluated solely for the purpose of determining whether or not to conduct this procurement on a competitive basis. If no response is received by 8 May 2006, to the effect that comparable support services are available that would be more advantageous to the Government than obtaining these supplies and/or services through sole source procurement with GE FANUC, a sole source award will be made.
