Description
The attached RFP is in addition to Special Notice DON-SNOTE-060413-001 The Deployable Virtual Training Environment (DVTE) is the USMC portable simulations system. DVTE will be the Battalion Commander?s training simulation tool and fielded to the battalion level. As such a DVTE suite must be capable of operating in the battalion classroom, aboard ship, and at other locations to support the required flexibility and responsiveness to battalion and lower level training. This will require that each DVTE suite be user friendly to the degree that it will not require contractor support in order to set up and configure to support the selected training. DVTE consists of two training modules, these are the Tactical Decision-making Simulations (TDS) and the Combined Arms Network (CAN). The focus of this RFP is on the CAN and all inference to DVTE from henceforth will imply the CAN unless otherwise stated. All comments should be submitted to LtCol Greg Caldwell at: gregory.r.caldwell@usmc.mil. The submission of this information is for planning purposes only and is not to be construed as a commitment by the government to procure any items/services, or for the government to pay for the information received
